How to complete login registration for income tax?

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Income Tax Department. Navigate to the ‘register yourself’ option and click on it.

Step 2: After that, you need to select the category from options of an individual, Hindu undivided family, collector, chartered accountant, among others.

Step 3: Once you select a category, for instance, individual, you need to enter information like name, PAN details, date of birth, residential status, etc.

Step 4: Once you fill in the details, click on ‘continue’, and it will redirect to a registration form that will enable you to create a username and password. After that, click on ‘Submit’.

Step 5: You will then receive an OTP on your registered phone number and email ID. However, if you have selected non-resident individual status, you will get this OTP via your email. Enter it to complete this income tax login process.

Paying income tax is important as these papers act as your income proof when you apply for a home loan and ease the process.
