All You Should Know Before Applying for PMAY Yojana 2021

PMAY List

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a helpful housing project created to give cheap housing to the country's poor. The Indian government launched it in 2015. By 2022, the authorities hope to achieve their aim of "Housing for All." The PMAY scheme is divided into two sections: PMAY Urban (PMAY-U) and PMAY Gramin (PMAY-G) (PMAY-G). Only eligible applications will be considered for PMAY 2021. A Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme is the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This means that the beneficiaries will receive an interest subsidy on the loan they take out to buy or build a new home. Such loans might have a term of up to 20 years. There are various benefits of the PMAY scheme, some of which are as follows:

  • The subsidy rate on home loans extending up to 20 years is 6.5% per annum.

  • The PMAY residences will be built using environmentally friendly and sustainable methods.

  • The allocation of ground-level houses would be prioritised for senior residents and differently-abled beneficiaries.

  • MIG (Middle Income Group) will receive an interest subsidy on home loans taken solely for acquisition or construction under PMAY 2021. Loans taken out by MIG for the acquisition of a home will be invalid.

  • The PMAY 2021 interest subsidy will be extended to EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Lower Income Group) housing loans for construction, acquisition, or extension.

  • At the outset, the credit-linked subsidy of the PMAY scheme is implemented in all statutory towns in India.

  • This program is designed for the urban poor. It also provides better housing options for people living in slums with inadequate sanitation and infrastructure.

  • The beneficiary's family can include his or her husband, wife, and/or unmarried children.

  • The PMAY LIG and MIG categories are exclusively eligible for CLSS (Credit linked subsidy system) under this plan.

  • As proof of income, applicants must submit an affidavit.

  • Scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, BPL minorities, and non-SC/ST people could all benefit.

  • Widows and children of paramilitary forces, those killed in action, veterans, and others covered by a retirement system are all eligible.

Applicants can also check the status of their PMAY applications online until they are approved. The registration number might be used for this. Applicants who become PMAY beneficiaries will be included in the PMAY list and eligible to get a specific subsidy on their home loans. If a person does not meet the PMAY eligibility conditions, they can apply for a housing loan through various NBFCs.

Since the beginning of the PMAY scheme, there are many housing finance companies that have been centrally recognised financial institutions. These companies have handled around 3700 PMAY applications to date.

They offer home loans with a very low-interest rate of 6.75 percent and a term of up to 20 years. Hassle-free house loan approvals and processing of the loans within 72 hours of receiving the application are additional services provided.

If a person wants a home loan but is not eligible for one under the PMAY plan, they should apply for a basic home loan through recognised housing finance companies.
